This Privacy Policy explains how Frisson Labs (“we,” “us,” or “our”) collects, uses, and shares your information across the Oto and Otomates services (“Oto” or “Service”), including our website (oto.chat), our web and mobile apps, in-app games and AI voice companions, and the Oto Chrome extension.

1. Information We Collect

We collect the following types of data:

2. Browser Permissions

Oto requires access to the tabs and content of the webpages you visit in order to provide its character rendering and contextual AI features.

3. Why We Collect Data

We use your data to:

  • Generate AI conversations and companion behaviors
  • Build long-term memory and personalization
  • Support user-created avatars
  • Maintain service performance and security
  • Train, evaluate, and improve our AI models, companion behaviors, and voices

AI training. The content of your conversations with our AI companions — including messages you type and words you speak (transcribed to text) — may be stored and used to train, fine-tune, and evaluate our AI models and companion voices. We do not sell your conversations, and you can request deletion or opt out at any time (see Section 7, “Your Rights,” or email legal@frisson-labs.com).

4. Third-Party Services

We share limited data with the following third-party processors:

  • OpenAI, Anthropic, Deepseek, Google (Gemini) (AI generation and conversation analysis)
  • ElevenLabs, Fish Audio (voice synthesis)
  • LiveKit (real-time voice call transport)

These services process data solely to support Oto’s functionality and are bound by confidentiality obligations.

We do not sell your data.

5. Cookies and Local Storage

Oto may use cookies or local storage to remember character preferences, session history, or personalization settings. These are stored locally on your device unless synced to our servers as part of long-term memory.

6. Data Retention

We retain your data only as long as necessary to provide and improve the Service. You may request data deletion at any time.

7. Your Rights

You may:

  • Request access to or deletion of your personal data
  • Correct inaccuracies in stored data
  • Withdraw consent for data processing (which may disable features)

Oto is not intended for children under 13. We do not knowingly collect personal data from children without verified parental consent.

10. Security

We use encryption, access controls, and secure infrastructure to protect your data. However, no system is 100% secure.

Oto is not a medical, therapeutic, or crisis support service. We do not monitor conversations in real time and cannot intervene in emergencies. Any personal disclosures related to mental health are not intended to be stored, processed, or used for medical purposes.

Oto is a fictional AI character. All conversations and interactions are generated algorithmically and are not supervised, authored, or monitored by a human. Any emotional expressions, relationships, or advice provided by Oto are simulated and should not be treated as a substitute for professional guidance or human connection.
